Saying Goodbye to Your Self-Storage Unit
Hey there! Ready to move out of your self-storage unit? We’re sad to see you go, but we’ve got you covered with some friendly tips to make the process as smooth as possible. Let’s get started!
Step 1: Give Us a Heads-Up
Let us know you’re planning to move out! Please provide written notice by at least five (5) days prior to the end of the current rental period. Or, schedule a move out through our website by logging into your account.
Step 2: Clear Out Your Stuff
Make sure to take everything out of your unit. Double-check those corners for any forgotten treasures! If you’ve got items you don’t need anymore, consider donating them to a local charity to give them a new home. Unfortunately, we can’t handle donations for you, and please don’t leave anything behind in the unit or on the property—nobody wants a surprise $60 cleanup fee (or higher if we need to call in a vendor).
Step 3: Spruce It Up
Leave your unit as clean as you found it. A clean unit makes for a happy move-out (and helps you avoid that cleaning fee)!
Step 4: Take Your Lock
That trusty lock on your unit? It’s yours, so don’t forget to take it with you! If you leave it behind, the unit is still considered “occupied,” even if it’s empty. Pop it off and keep it for your next adventure.
Step 5: Let Us Know You’re Done
Once your unit is empty and clean let us know you’ve moved out. We’ll do a quick inspection to make sure everything’s good to go and close out your account. Want to make it even easier? Snap a photo of your empty, unlocked unit (with the unit number clearly visible) and email it to us from the email address on file. Include your full name and unit number in the subject line.
A Few Extra Notes
- No prorations: We don’t offer prorated refunds for move-in or move-out, so plan your dates accordingly.
- Autopay: Once you’re officially moved out, we’ll turn off autopay for you.
- Trash alert: Leaving trash in the unit or on the property isn’t allowed, and a fee may apply if the unit isn’t left rent-ready.
- Confirmation: You’ll get a confirmation once your move-out is processed. If anything comes up, we’ll reach out.
